Marketing & Communications Officer
This Role:
Role purpose
The Marketing & Communications Officer supports the mission of Generations Christian Education by planning and delivering marketing and communications initiatives that strengthen the organisation’s brand, promote its schools and programmes, and engage key stakeholders, including parents, donors, community partners, and the wider community.
Key responsibilities
1. Brand, marketing, and campaigns
● Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns (offline and digital) to promote admissions, events, programmes, and fundraising initiatives.
● Develop and maintain marketing collateral, including brochures, posters, presentation decks, videos, and other promotional materials.
● Ensure consistent application of brand identity and messaging across all schools, departments, and channels.
2. Content creation and digital communications
● Manage day‑to‑day content for website, e‑newsletters, social media platforms, and other digital channels, including copywriting, basic design, and coordination of visual assets.
● Draft, edit, and proofread English communications, including promotional copy, key messages, and leadership updates; support Chinese content where applicable.
3. Media, publicity, and stakeholder engagement
● Support media and PR efforts, including preparing press releases, media kits, and briefing notes, and coordinating media enquiries where relevant.
● Assist in planning and promoting events (open days, fundraising activities, community outreach, etc.), ensuring effective pre‑ and post‑event communication.
● Work closely with internal stakeholders (school leaders, admissions, development, teaching staff) to align communication priorities and maintain strong relationships.
4. Monitoring, reporting, and administration
● Track performance of campaigns and digital channels (e.g., website traffic, social media engagement, email open/click‑through rates) and provide regular reports with insights and recommendations.
● Maintain contact and mailing lists, photo and content libraries, and communication archives.
● Liaise with external vendors and agencies (designers, printers, photographers, media, web developers) and handle quotations, timelines, and deliverables.
● Support any other communication, marketing, or fundraising‑related tasks assigned by senior leadership.
Qualifications and experience
● Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Media, or related discipline.
● 2–4 years of relevant experience in marketing and/or communications, preferably in education, non‑profit, or related sectors
● Demonstrated experience in content creation, social media management, and basic campaign execution.
Skills and attributes
● Excellent written and spoken English; good command of Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) is highly desirable in the Hong Kong education context.
● Strong copywriting, editing, and storytelling skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
● Proficiency in common digital and social media platforms, email marketing tools, and basic design software (e.g., Canva).
● Organised, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines, with a proactive, “can‑do” attitude.
● A collaborative team player who can work effectively with diverse stakeholders across schools and departments.
● Alignment with the Christian ethos and values of Generations Christian Education and willingness to support its spiritual mission and community life.
