PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE VOL.40 – DEC 2014

Dear Island CA Community, 您好.

Island Christian Academy has had 2 fantastically successful community events since the last school newsletter two weeks ago. What an amazing community! Didn’t everyone do well! Give yourselves a pat on the back!

Thank you to everyone who helped make Topsy Turvy World such a spectacle.

To have the children successfully perform and sing in front of 550 people in The Vine Centre was a great achievement and such a confidence booster for our students. The compliments keep flying in; we are really pleased you enjoyed the evening and thought the production was so professional and well organised. This was thanks to our talented students, generous parents, multi—talented teachers, dedicated and hard working assistants, administrative and support staff.

I should also mention that we were so pleased with our audience! The performers really appreciated all your laughter and clapping, and last but not least that you were so ‘well behaved ’ – no cell phones ringing no evidence of cameras or electronic devices – well done for listening and following instructions!

The Christmas Fair was a really fun afternoon. Thanks very much to our Parent Teacher Association for organizing it all. Twelve days after the event I still love seeing the decorations that make the school so colourful everyday. I think we all enjoyed seeing Coach Jake shave his moustache off as well!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from all the staff.

Enjoy the “eating and drinking and singing, and gifts……. and lights and decorations, and a feeling of celebration” as well as “what is at the heart of this festival.”
